Hang Rajiv Gandhi Killers before hanging Yakub Memon!

Thanks to the various systems put in place by successive governments, including that of reservations of various kinds, Muslims are neither an adequate part of governance and administration nor of justice and execution. And when the biases in minds are becoming the order of the day, Muslims will of course have the higher representation in all the categories of oppression, suppression, victimisation and exploitation.
Rajiv Gandhi, the Former Prime Minister of India, was killed several years before the Mumbai Blasts. They had direct involvement in the murder. They still survive while Yakub Menon who had only an indirect role in Mumbai blasts is counting days before he is sent to the gallows. When it comes to hanging someone, almost all the parties think similarly: if the convicts are Muslims, they deserve to be hanged irrespective of the relative nature of their crime compared to other criminals sentenced to death. Congress government hanged Afzal Guru despite serious questions on his hanging considering the fact that there were only circumstantial evidences in favour of his crime. (They did not even hand over his body to his family.) But the Hindutva lobby had repeated his name in media perhaps as many times as many people reside in this country with the result that the Congress government could not afford to think differently. The names of the killers of Rajiv Gandhi may not perhaps even be fully known to the family members of Gandhi family. The country of the Twenty First Century understands that only 4-5 persons committed crimes that need to be reminded daily until they are killed by the Law of the land. Two, Kasab and Afzal have already met their fate, the third will follow soon. Perhaps the only other name every single Indian remembers is Dawood Ibrahim. Nobody knows who among Naxalites, Ulfa activists and Bodo extremists have been responsible for the death of more than 30000 people, including civilians and army personnel, in last two decades. Of course none will ever know who killed thousands in anti-Muslim riots in Gujarat.

UPA government had hanged Afzal and Kasab and let the Rajiv Gandhi killers survive. They cannot be expected to speak against Memon’s execution. Even the insiders of Congress privately admit that the inner conscience of a large majority of Congressmen behaves the same way as the inner conscience of BJP men does. A prominent leader of the party has of course been on the record saying that “Narsimha Rao and not Vajpayee was the first BJP Prime Minister of the country”.

It is worth repeating what I had written in my previous article:

It can now be said with certainty that Muslims, both criminals and falsely accused, are more likely to be arrested, more likely to charged, more likely to be proved guilty, more likely to be sentenced to death and more likely to be executed. This points not only to the discrimination prevailing in the legal machinery, Police being the major culprit, but also to the inability of Muslims, due to their lower socioeconomic conditions to fight the costly legal battles. Of course, when politics gets involved, their chances of avoiding punishment become considerably low. The government finds it harder to accept the mercy appeals of Muslim convicts because the media had already done its job in building mass opinion in favour of their hanging.

I am a strong believer of death sentence to all those who are involved in murders irrespective of the identity of the killers and the victims. If violence has to be stopped, the perpetrators of violence need to be given their own medicine.  I have therefore no sympathy for Memon. What is however necessary is the absence of bias in all respects – in rewards as well as punishments What pains me, and should pain every right thinking human being, is the increasingly partisan attitude of Indian system (Government, Politicians, Police and Judiciary) against Muslims. This gives weight to the ever increasing feeling of discrimination against Muslims in the country. Will this ever to come to end? Perhaps, not in near future.

I will again conclude by repeating two ashaar of my Ghazal, which I quoted in my last article.

Zulm o sitam ki KHaatir kya main hi rah gaya huN.
(Have I been singled out for cruelty and oppression?
Dunya meiN eik saabir kya main hi rah gaya huN
(Am I the only one tolerant left in the world?)

Jisko bhi dekhta huN dil toRta hai mera
(Whoever I trust, breaks my heart)
Jazbaat-e dil pe qaadir kya main hi rah gaya huN.
(Am I the only one who can control the emotions of hearts?)
Qaatil na jaane kitne dunya meiN phir rahe haiN
(Innumerable murderers are roaming free in the world)
Phaansi ka mustahiq phir kya main hi rah gaya huN.

If justice means anything in India, let the killers of Rajiv Gandhi be hanged before Yakub Memon!

"[I]f WE are their self-declared enemy, then THEY can't obecjt if we treat them in kind, now can they?"They can obecjt. They can obecjt just as loud and long as they want. Problem is it JUST WON'T DO THEM ANY GOOD! Yeah, they have a lot of ammo - FOR NOW! But something tells me that the militia types in the locales where those ammo storage dumps are located already have plans in place for "relieving" them of it - complete with "thank you" note for their generous storage of it.

First post here; have been following Mike's blogs for a while. Just saw the Forum .Rajiv: some fecebadk from someone in and out of photography for 30+ years. All sides: photographer, creative director, photo buyer, publisher, and now photo education and entertainment website owner. What is your goal? You seem very concerned about Likes. Why? Do you want Likes or do you want photo sales? If photo sales, in which way? You already have stock sales; great! And you have a photo shoot hiring; also great! Or do you want fine-art gallery exhibition? Or maybe all the above, but which do you want most? That's where you should concentrate.Your Zenfolio site is nice, although lose the music. Music is a big turn-off. You might like the music but what if someone hates it? Also, you have some great images, but the portfolio organization is not clear to me. I don't even know what most of your categories mean. If you want to sell (which you're set up to do), then only have 3-5 main categories. Maybe most importantly, you mention get appreciation from photographers. This is fine for fecebadk, critiques, photo education, friendship, community, etc. But if you want to SELL your photography or photo services, this is the wrong goal (see above). You need awareness with CUSTOMERS not Photographers. Market to your customers, not your peers.Hope this is helpful! Keep at it! (I would love to see Oman some day!)Harald Johnson

I think the DMIPS problem is a seiuros drag on delivering decent OTT apps. This could change with the next generation platform. Hmmm I'd been assuming the problem was that TiVo was using a platform with API's that made it too difficult for 3rd parties to easily write OTT clients. If I'm correct to that point, a chipset that triples DMIPS wouldn't solve that problem, even if it would make a much nicer CableCARD DVR one I would rush out to purchase. But if you're suggesting that the next generation platform isn't going to built on the current Adobe runtime, then, obviously the above paragraph loses its relevance
